Extract from The L.L.A.N.I. Ltd Year
a poetical review of L.L.A.N.I. Ltd activities and the team in 2006
I guess that only leaves me, the original member of the team,
A man of many talents... or a dried up old has been?
Choked in my ambitions, a man whose inner flame's been quenched,
I should have been born 200 years ago, I could have been "Emperor of the French!"
Now chained to a desk in an office, hidden away in the bowels of the Town Hall,
From grandiose plans of conquest, I'm thinking rather small,
Of a sustainable and prosperous Llanidloes; how do I stop from getting bored?
By dreaming of the means by which the Kingdom of Arwystli can be restored.
I once had ambition to be an author, for long I was visited by the Muse,
Now I fear she's left me, for allowing my talents to be abused,
I don't mean the dodgy poems, no, it's plain as plain can be,
To fill in endless funding bids is to waste creativity!
It's all I seem to do these days, that and keeping up with the accounts,
Reporting in minute detail to WAG, signing cheques for large amounts,
Some occasional blue skies thinking; if my eyes are closed, it's not as it appears,
I'll have you know that it's in my dreams I have all my best ideas!
And I suppose that's the biggest change, wrought by the year just gone,
I don't expect you to agree, feel free to contradict me if I'm wrong,
But something has changed in the office, as staff numbers have increased,
There's too much hustle and bustle, I never seem to get any peace!
